Overview
Strap is an illustration, motion graphics, and animation I did as a self-project.
This was inspired by a friend of mine who passed away in late December of 2023.

Process
Sketch
This is a rough sketch of the animation.
Originally, I want it to work on it as a animation manga (Manga is a Japanese style comic).
Thumbnail
These sets of thumbnails are used for the animation for YouTube.
I drew this in Adobe Photoshop using the custom brushes for the Watercolor set.
Version 1 - The bird is close to the land. However, the amount of space that is at the top not being used is a waste.
Version 2 - I move the bird to the top. Up high in the sky. I also did some color correction on the grass.
Version 3 - Adding a building at the background.

This is the only animation version I did.
I used Adobe After Effects to create this piece.
Conclusion
This short piece is fun to do but also sad. I’m constantly reminded when I make this piece; it reminds me of all my friends who left this world and never returned. I show how short life can be. You can watch this short on my YouTube channel.
